Before and After Photos

It is not a facelift but an uplift of the face, neck, eye brow and eye lid— Ultherapy uses precisely delivered ultrasound technology to gradually strengthen and tone your skin. Ultherapy utilizes the Ulthera system, which is the first and only device cleared by the FDA for use as a non-invasive treatment for the face with a specific indication for eyebrow lift. By using focused energy, Ulthera achieves firmer and tighter skin with a natural result. The beauty is that it is a 30 min to 1 hour procedure that uses the body`s own healing response to rebuild collagen and to gradually improve the skin`s underlying tissue. The strengthening and rebuilding of collagen takes place naturally and gradually over weeks to months. It has no downtime because it never disrupts the epidermis, the top layer of the skin. Ultherapy is not a replacement for a surgical face and eyelid lift. But patients love that there is no downtime and they can return to normal activities right after the treatment.

On which parts of the face can Ultherapy be administered?

Ultherapy was originally developed for use on the brow, but most doctors now use it on all parts of the face and neck. At my New Jersey practice, I use Ultherapy to tighten skin on areas throughout the face and neck, including:

  • Neck
  • Jaw
  • Chin
  • Cheeks
  • Under-eye
  • Brow and forehead

What happens during an Ultherapy treatment?

Prior to your procedure, I first cleanse the targeted area and apply ultrasound gel. I then use a specialized handpiece to administer Ultherapy. During this time, some discomfort is normal, and the amount you can expect depends on the areas you're having treated, as well as your own physiology.

An Ultherapy session can last as little as 30 minutes, and you may return to your normal activities as soon as your appointment is over.

How many treatments do I need to see results?

Unlike some other non-invasive skin tightening options, only 1 session of Ultherapy is needed for optimal results. Keep in mind, though, that results are not instant – instead, they develop gradually over the course of a few months. During this time, your skin's collagen rebuilds, revealing softer, more elastic skin and a more refined facial contour. Depending on your own preferences, you may choose to return for annual touch-ups to maintain your results.

Will I have any activity restrictions after Ultherapy?

No! One of Ultherapy's biggest advantages is that it doesn't require any special care or lifestyle adjustments. Although you may experience some residual soreness or redness at the treatment areas, these side effects should diminish within a day or so. After your treatments, you may exercise, wash your face, or apply makeup – your Ultherapy results won't be affected.
